The Monster Series

The Monster Series draws inspiration from Carl Jung’s shadow theory. 

 

Shadows are the hidden corners of our subconscious where the undesirable and socially unacceptable traits of our personality reside. They are the parts of ourselves that we try to hide and yet pulse with primal, undeniable energy.

Jung believed that by embracing our shadows and acknowledging the darkness within, we can unlock creativity, self-awareness, and personal transformation.

In this series, I confront my own shadows by painting them into monsters. I give form to what I'm afraid to say, color to what I deny to think, and power to a side of myself that only I can truly know.
